Legendary Atlanta Falcon running back Warrick Dunn teamed up with Habitat for Humanity and Aaron’s to surprise two single mom’s with their dream homes in Edmonton, Georgia.
l’Keirra and Barbara not only got the keys to their new crib, Warrick Dunn also handed them a $5,000 down payment assistance check and…(yes it gets even sweeter for these Georgia peaches)…Aaron home furnishings worth $10,000.
The $5,000 down payment was through Warrick Dunn’s nonprofit–Warrick Dunn Charities– that aim to assist single parents with first time homeownership.
l’Keirra and Barbara are more than deserving of the upgrade.
According to WGXA news, l’Keirra juggles being a mom to a two-year-old daughter, working as a pharmacy tech and going to nursing school, while living with eight other people in a three-bedroom, two- bathroom home.
Barbara was living in a run down trailer she shared with her adult son and pre teen daughter while working as a grocery store cashier and elementary school lunch lady.
“I wasn’t expecting everything I got, but I’m blessed with it,” Barbara said. “Especially my kids. You know, to see the smiles on their face.”
