Ho Ho Hope Comes to Western NC! Secret Santa Delivers Thousands of Dollars to Hurricane Helene Victims

A Special Delivery of Hope Makes its Way to North Carolina

Santa to the rescue!

But it’s not the one y’all are used too. This Santa has ditched the red suit and beard for a tee and flat cap.

One other thing: He may or may not be called Nick, because this Santa prefers to be anonymous. But he’s still doling out blessings all the same.

Not with a lumpy sack, but a wallet.

The no name, wealthy businessman travels around the country during the holidays giving away $100,000 in $100 bills, according to CBS News.

Secret Santa visits Avery County, NC to bless Hurricane Helene victims

Last week, he parked his invisible reindeer at Avery County, NC to share the wealth.

Lord knows the poor residents of Western NC need a save; after their homes and livelihoods were swept away during Hurricane Helene in Sept.

Secret Santa visited parking lots, grocery stores and even motel rooms to hand out  $100 to random strangers.

Jamie Guinn was one of them.

Sadly, he lost his wife and house in a mudslide.

“I grabbed ahold of her and I said, ‘At least we got each other,'” Jamie told CBS News. “‘We can fix the house.’ And it couldn’t have been 10 minutes later, and I remember just getting crushed.”

A second mudslide took the whole house and claimed Melissa’s life.

“You haven’t really lost her because she’s with you and she’s smiling down on you right now,” Secret Santa told Guinn.

Those comforting words are worth more than any amount of money provided, which to Secret Santa is the real gift.

“I think when people go through tragedy, they can lose their house — all their belongings,” he told CBS News. “But what they can’t lose is hope. And maybe we can give a little hope.”

Let’s spread more of that all year round. It’s in desperate need.
