Flau’jae Johnson is Using March Madness to Eliminate Louisiana Families Debts

Just when I think the LSU/ Flau’jae combo is unconquerable, she teams up another powerhouse: Experian.

Flau’jae appears in five ads for the credit agency throughout the March Madness tournament to commit to scrubbing $5 million in debt for families in Louisiana.

The real slam dunk is another $100,000 will be wiped out with each LSU Tigers win at the NCAA women’s tournament.

“Baton Rouge has shown me so much love. It has been like a second home for me, and I’ve seen how real financial struggles can be for some of the people in this community,” Johnson told ADWEEK. “The idea of helping wipe out $5 million in debt isn’t just a number—it’s life-changing for the people it impacts. Adding the tournament wins on top of that? It’s like a double victory.”

It’s a much needed one, according to ADWEEK Experian targets their services to the most needed areas. With 19% of Louisiana’s population living in poverty, this blessing will help them get a leg up

Flau’jae and Experian launched name, image and likeness (NIL) deal in 2024 and the first lesson in financial literacy she taught her fans was boosting their credit by automating utility bills.

Pearls of wisdom she’s collected from her single mom.

“Whether it was watching my mom balance expenses or hearing stories about how credit can make or break opportunities, I understood early on that financial literacy was key,” Johnson said. “Those experiences made me want to be smart with my own money from the start.”

Now she’s using that knowledge to empower us. It’s a win win.
