It’s the philanthropic trio we never saw coming.
Rappers Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and sports commentator Pat McAfee collectively donated $50,000 to Pittsburgh public schools, which was approved by the school district on Wednesday.
The district says the donation will be used to ““to support our District programs, initiatives, and priorities,” in a statement.
“This one-time donation not only reflects a shared belief in the potential of our students, but also reinforces the power and impact of community,” said Pittsburgh Public Schools media manager Portia Martin in the statement.

Wiz Khalifa and Pat McAfee are real familiar with ‘The Burgh’ as natives of 412.
Wiz Khalifa graduated from Taylor Allderdice High school in 2006. The ‘Black and Yellow’ rapper has been throwin’ the spotlight to his hometown ever since.
In 2022, Wiz Khalifa sold custom ‘fits to Depop to raise money for Pittsburgh Public School’s music department, according to Hot New Hip Hop.
Pat Mcafee graduated from Plum high school in 2005. In 2021, McAfee donated $2 million to Plum high school’s athletic program.
Snoop Dogg being a die-hard Steelers fan was a reason enough to donate to a good cause.
This is the back to school boost Pittsburgh Public Schools need to help the 20,000 students in the schools, with close 80% living in poverty.
