Tiffany Haddish was ready to pay for the beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes…you name it.
The “Girls Trip” comedian held a grocery giveaway in Altadena’s Super King Market from noon to 4pm on Friday, after giving her seven million followers on Instagram a heads up Thursday.
According to KTLA, around 500 people were already in line before 11am.
Tiffany Haddish told KTLA that she called her “rich friends” to help donate to the cause through her nonprofit Diaspora groceries.
Nia Long, Leonardo DiCaprio and LA businessman Stephen Cloobeck supported Tiffany Haddish’s mission.
Cloobeck helped Tiffany hand out the groceries with the aim to “make the entire store empty.”
Shoppers were given a ticket to shop for whatever groceries they wanted, except for cigarettes and alcohol, with a cap of $150 worth, according to Pasadena Star News.
“The number one stress for parents is, what am I going to feed my child today? And if you don’t have money, it’s like, how am I going to feed my kids? Then that causes stress on your brain,” said Haddish.
Thankfully this funny girl has eased that stress for this month, at least.
