Let’s Get ’em Back to Work! Former TSA Worker Raises $3K to Distribute Gas Gift Cards to TSA Agents

It’s hard out here for airport workers, y’all.

Especially amid the longest government shutdown in history and a stone’s throw away from the holidays.

Imagine being mandated to have a normal working day. Only, you’re not getting your normal pay. You aren’t getting. paid. at. all.

But we all know who is.

Anyway, to lend a hand to those who aren’t, former TSA officer Caleb Harmon-Marshall held a free car wash on Wednesday at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Caleb linked up with Caliber Car Wash to give TSA officers free car washes and gas gift cards at the event.

“They’re feeling unseen. They’re feeling unheard,” organizer Caleb Harmon-Marshall, who is the founder of the travel newsletter Gate Access, told CBS affiliate WANF. “They’re feeling forgotten because they’re going through this.”

“Makes me feel better that my car looks good,” James Drake, an officer, told WANF at the event. “We’re all trying to stick together. We’re a family. We help each other out.”

Caleb started an online fundraiser–which has raised $4,600–to give $50 gas cards to TSA officers to get them to work.
