RHOA Kenya Moore Raises $40K for Detroit Schools on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore added more coins to the Detroit Public School Systems coffers.

Winning a “Celebrity Apprentice” challenge–to create a marketing campaign for Ivanka Trump’s shoe collection sold through Nordstrom– helped her rake in $40,000 ($20K was for winning the challenge and Donald Trump matched it.)

The Twirl girl has been making it rain since last year for the struggling city’s school system, without a certain Housewife’s help.

For those counting she’s donated $60K to the motor city’s public schools.

Let’s see how much “moore” money she’ll get out of The Don as this season rolls on.

“Cosby’s” Rudy Huxtable aka Keshia Knight-Pulliam may’ve been the first player to get the axe on “Celebrity Apprentice” but her walking papers included a $25,000 donation–to her Kamp Kizzy Foundation–from the Donald’s own coffers.

Hey, if you’re going to go out at least get some coins to show for it.

Keshia’s downfall as bosslady came when she didn’t tap into her Bill Cosby resource. These days it would all but certainly warrant an understanding head nod to not reach out to the comedian. But given that the ep taped months before the sexual assault allegations plagued the pudding king, his number should’ve been on speed dial for the fundraising challenge of selling pies.

But it wasn’t.

Keshia thought it would look tacky to reach out to him for moola when she hadn’t talked to him in years. So, she took the high road that led to a town car outta Trump world. Bye, Rudy.

Fast forward to two episodes, “Independence Day’s” Vivica Fox takes the reins as project leader. The task? Coming up with an ad campaign for frozen food company, Luvo.

Ms. Fox illustrated her acting chops by transforming into a dictator diet coach character with a Hitler mustache during the presentation. Welp, you gotta do what you gotta do for charity.

Hey, however weird and unorthodox, the schtick worked. Ms. Fox raised $50,000 to Best Buddies International; an org that aids people with disabilities and development challenges to be independent.

According to Viv’s “Apprentice” blog she’s worked with the charity for a decade.

Kudos to both philanthropic ladies. Cue Bey’s “Girls (Run the World).”

Other Takeaways from “Celebrity Apprentice“:

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kenya Moore is more lethal in the boardroom than in a housewife reunion show. She baited Trump (not with the scepter, though) to go after Keshia for not reaching out to Bill Cosby.

You would think Vivica Fox was the athlete ’cause she suuurrreee threw gymnast Shawn Johnson under the bus in the boardroom. Viv called her out for coasting because she got her monthly. Pop a pain pill and move on. Period.

Nick Jonas tried to oust egomaniac Geraldo Rivera, but got the axe himself.

Inappropriately funny Gilbert Gottfried heard two words he’s familiar with: “you’re fired” At least it’s not Boo..

RHOA Kenya Moore Donates to Alma Mater

Kenya Moore may be many things, but a woman of her word is sho nuff one of them. If you recall seven months ago, during the temper fueled “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion special, the twirl queen and Nene “moneybags” Leakes hesitantly agreed to donate to their favorite charities. And to prove how deep Nene’s pocketbook is she pledged to match Kenya’s donation to her fave charity as a peace offering for acting ratchet at a Kenya Moore-endorsed charity event.

Well, hunni, Kenya has officially signed, sealed annnddd delivered the $20K to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation. The org confirmed the donation last week.

No word on when Nene is dropping her check in the mail…

I exclusively spotted the twirl queen aka “Real Housewives of Atlanta’s” Kenya Moore making herself dizzy for charity at Manhattan’s PieFace bakery, while “The Cosby Show” star Keshia Knight Pulliam and “Sharknado’s” Vivica Fox were swiping customers’ credit cards. The roving cameras gave away the best kept secret: competitors for latest round of “Celebrity Apprentice” have been chosen.

Although it hasn’t been officially announced, it was pretty obvi this was a team challenge. Also rounding out the group that’s pegged “Team Infinity” are talk show host Leeza Gibbons, snowboarder Jamie Anderson (she waited on me, such a sweetheart.), “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” Brandi Glanville (we chatted about how amazing the food smelled), gymnast Shawn Johnson and “Jon & Kate Plus Eight” Kate Gosselin, who was surprisingly friendly.

So, here’s the scoop. Customers buying a pie could take a snapshot with a celeb. So, after Rudy, er Keshia rung me up, (and in the process I took many candid shots of her) I hauled ass to Ms. Twirl, who pranced around the shop like a ballerina on steroids, to take a cute pic together.

It was hard to tell who was the team captain, but if I had to guess it was either Kenya or Kate because they weren’t working as hard as the ladies behind the counter, which got me thinking what charities are they shilling pies for.

Well, I’ve come up with a few guess-estimates. Keshia Knight Pulliam will more than likely throw her Kamp Kizzy non-profit into the ring. It’s a mentoring camp for young girls. Vivica’s charity is a little hard to narrow down. She’s supported so many over the years, but if I were a betting woman I’d put it on Breast Cancer Awareness or Sojourn, an LA-based safe haven for domestic violence survivors,  because of her public support of the charities in the past. And finally Kenya Moore would be honoring who else? Kenya Moore, lol. I can bet my hat she will try to pull in money for The Kenya Moore Foundation that offers young girls  from her alma mater, Cass Technical High School, educational scholarships.

The upcoming season of “Celebrity Apprentice” looks to good to pass up. So, I’ve decided to recap each episode. Stay tuned, my loves. And let the games begin.

FUNDRAISER FIASCO: What You Can Learn from Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Saving Our Daughters Charity Event

Saving our Daughters is one charity on the lips of reality stars from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but not for the disturbing mashup of an “Eyes Wide Shut”-themed fundraiser Kenya Moore concocted, or her Black Swan on steroids face mask, it’s the ill-conceived planning on Kenya’s part in not notifying the guest of honor: Ms. Nene “Imma rich bitch” Leakes of the fundraiser.

Apparently e-vites and word of mouth mentions don’t make for an exclusive guest list. But they do create a scene where Rich Bitch Leakes saunters into the freaky deek fundraiser in a sleeveless liquid dress with a raging pout that would make Posh Spice envious. And a silver tongue to match to give the shortest passive-aggressive speech in history. So much for putting on a good face for charity, despite it being “one of many she supports.”

And the lesson here? well, there’s several:

  • If a fundraiser/party is in someone’s honor, the first invite or call should go to them.
  • Never throw away your receipts, they may come in handy when you least expect it.
  • Don’t let your emotions get the best of you; be clever enough to turn shade into shine for yourself.
  • Finally, don’t forget the charity’s purpose and influence over others.

IFYOUBL==KED: “In the House” actress Maia Campbell has joined the Saving Our Daughters charity this month. The actress hopes to share her experiences as an addict to help other young women recover.
