NFL player DeAngelo Williams is taking Breast Cancer Awareness aka Pinktober to a whole ‘nother level. Not only is the Pittsburgh Steelers’ runningback trying to extend his pink uniform of awareness–pink hair, nails, toes and clothes–until November (The NFL said no…boo hiss), but also paying for the prevention out of his own pocket.
Earlier this month, Williams tweeted he’s paying for 53 woman’s mammograms through his foundation–“53 Strong for Sandra. The life-saving donation is in honor of Williams’ mother (Sandra) who died of breast cancer.
What a great way to honor his mama and help other woman.

Prince isn’t the only one donning the royal color today. In honor of GLAAD’s Spirit Day, which rallies against bullying of the LGBTQ youth, celebs like transgender poster girl Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), mommy-to-be Kandi Burruss and her RHOA castmate Cynthia Bailey pulled out the purple outfits.
Today Show anchor Tamron Hall reminded us of the significance of the day alongside fellow anchor Natalie Morales.
And we saved the best for last. The Prancing Elites took to Facebook to urge supporters to go purple. As an added incentive they give a dose of their song and dance skills. You betta werk, hunty!
Happy Spirit Day, remember to choose kindness. To learn how click here.
