Aretha Franklin aka Queen of Soul (rightfully crowned so.) Should add another title to her reign: queen of hearts.

For donating rooms at Holiday Inn in Southfield, a suburb of Detroit, to 25-50 Flint, Michigan residents affected by a tainted water supply.

The R&B Diva will also provide meals from the local Coney Island.

Franklin will depend on her Daddy’s church–New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit–to determine which Flint residents should benefit and when, reports KSAT.

Good luck with the pre-screen…it is a town of 100,000. I’m guessing they’ll help the worse cases.

“Detroiters usually come to the aid of Detroiters–and Flint is certainly regarded as Detroit” Franklin told Local 4.

Adding “Hang in there” to those suffering in the D.

The R.E.S.P.E.C.T songbird isn’t the only one to come to the rescue of Flint’s water crisis. Diddy made good on his promise by pledging one million bottles of his Aquahydrate water to Flint.

Rapper The Game donated $1 million dollars to Flint through his non-profit–The Robin Hood Project. Half the money is out of his own pocket.

The Game used the opportunity to shade celebs that are “pledging” money to the troubled city rather than donating outright. He posted his rant (see below) on Instagram this week.

To those who think it’s easy getting this water to Flint, it’s not so the people who are PLEDGING they are, show us..We want proof!! Stop using other tragedies for your own celebrity gain…you’re not fooling ANYONE!

The “She’s Got Game” reality star then goes on to call out Madonna and Jimmy Fallon for their measly $10K donations.

I seen @Madonna & @JimmyFallon’s $10,000 donations…that’s cute, but not nearly enough…So I challenge both & anyone else in the world to match me & DONATE $1,000,000 in bottled water to Flint, Michigan & we want proof, shipping order receipts, bank wire receipts, pictures etc……No more pretending to give a fuck….

Guess he’s not a believer of the philosophy every little bit helps.

Seriously though, let’s continue to help Flint y’all.

CHARITY SHOT: Kevin Durant and Rapper The Game Make a Basketball Bet for Charity

A friendly wager for charity took a turn for the worse between rapper The Game and OKC baller Kevin Durant when TMZ got in the mix of the on-the-fly bet for the kiddies.

Okay, so according to TMZ, last week at a Drake party, Durant stepped to The Game with a philanthropic offer: if the “How We Do” rapper could sink a 3-point shot at NBA range he’d give away $20K worth of his sneakers to The Game’s lil league basketball team Frogg All Stars.

It was all net for The Game’s charity shot, but never received the deets from K.D. on when the kids gear would be delivered. TMZ got wind of the wager, tracked Durant down during his workout for answers and called out the MC for lying about the bet. Not one to let that slide, the Game blasted the baller out on Instagram about the terms of the bet. He even said Drake was a witness to the charity shot.

There was more back and forth until finally the Game released this statement on Instagram about the fracas:

Had a conversation with @easymoneysniper this morning & we both agreed that there was a miscommunication between the middle party which was “TMZ” & that the way the camera man presented it to him was as if he bet me $20,000 cash which wasn’t the case…. We agreed that if I hit the 3 point shot he would get KD gear & his kicks for all the kids in our @froggallstars organization which is close to 130 children…. 130 kids at a price of maybe $150 a shoe & gear after tax equals close to $20,000 give or take so that’s where that # came from. When I woke up & had multiple texts & calls saying KD called me a liar on TMZ, I acted immediately in clearing things up on my end on my page & didn’t have a # on @easymoneysniper to clear it up privately which is what I should’ve done because the situation that was meant to be friendly & charitable to the kids & is now blown out of proportion….
The Game also wrote that K.D. agreed to make good on the bet’s promise and deliver the gear to his lil league team of over 100 players. K.D. re-posted the Game’s message. So all is squared away. Go Frogg AllStars!!!

Tons of Celebs Spread Christmas Cheer to Needy Families Everywhere

Tis the season for giving…yes, still and our fave reality stars, rappers, actresses and activists made sure it counted this year. Ifyoublinked threw a spotlight on a few this month. And I’m happy to report the generosity cup runneth over.

Check the pics below to see which celebs spread joy this holiday season.

So, there’s no doubt your Instagram feed is still being taken over by R.I.P posts for Nelson Mandela and Paul Walker. Its been a tragically sad week. But, you might have spotted the post above as well, especially if your following The Game’s IG.

After hearing about two kids, under age 10, die from street shootings, the rapper decided to raise the white flag on gun violence in Los Angeles this holiday season.

In the wake of 7 year old Taalib Pecantte ‘s murder along with 6 year old Tiana Ricks & all the other children slain this year due to gang violence in my city & on behalf of @therobinhoodproject we are asking all gangs to  CEASE FIRE IN LOS ANGELES throughout the Christmas holiday season to ensure no more senseless child murders occur & families can enjoy their holiday season in peace.

The rapper urged all his followers to re-post this message and hopefully those responsible for the senseless violence will take heed. If you remember, honestly, how can anyone forget? We are a week away from the one year anniversary of the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting. A day I believe will live in infamy and one that is being repeated over and over again, just in different scenarios, with younger faces and different locations.

So, I salute The Game for continuing his Robin Hood Project initiative as well as being a peacekeeper in his community. And kudos to those passing the torch to their followers like P. Diddy, Khloe Kardashian, Monica, Xzibit, Shannon Brown and Kelly Rowland.

If you want to spread the love nationwide save the image above and post on Instagram using #Ceasefire and your city.

IF U BL==NKED: The Game’s cause wasn’t the only one Ms. Kelly Rowland was getting behind (She’s becoming busier than Queen Bey these days). She’s taking her sassy act to Universal City Walk in Hollywood tomorrow to perform at a free concert for Rock the Red Kettle event that benefits The Salvation Army. Check out the video below to find out how else the newly engaged songstress is helping this historic org.

It’s catching…and no, I’m not talking about this early stage flu season we’re having (oh, BTW, Rite Aid employees: I DON’T need a flu shot with my gum purchase), but giving.

Usually people start feeling generous during the holiday season, well…”it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas…” in September.

Remember when I told you guys about The Game’s new philanthropic endeavor?…no, well consider this a refresher.

The Game’s Robin Hood Project has inspired others to give back. Like rapper Drake who joined forces with The Game to donate $22,500 to an Ohio woman who had to bury her entire family after a trailer home fire.

Tomorrow Anna Angel will lay to rest her five kids and boyfriend. The two rappers donated $10,000 each to cover funeral costs.

I love listening to people’s stories about giving others a helping hand. It reminds me of a time, five or six years ago, when I was feeling helpless and frustrated because I couldn’t find a job. I was in Manhattan, coming back from another job interview that I was sure didn’t go well. And as I was entering the train station in Grand Central, I came down this long, very long escalator and at the bottom of the escalator was a homeless man in a wheelchair with two dirty plastic bags tied to the handrails of the chair. As pitiful as I felt in that moment, at the same time seeing him made me thankful, because someone always has it worse. I gave him all the change I had, which was like $3 or $4 dollars. And he was so grateful to just be noticed. To be acknowledged and given some aid. As corny as it may sound…it does make you feel good. That interaction changed my whole mood that day.

So, listening to rapper The Game write about helping a young African boy in Australia was inspirational.

The other day I posted this pic of an African child I met in Australia playing outside the grocery store. His story of his families hardships & struggles to get away from the terror they left behind touched me so I gave him what I had on me… Which was an Australian $20 bill. As the days passed, I thought about him over & over & over & the only thing that bothered me about that night was that I didn’t have more on me to give him at that time.

The Game writes on his Instagram blog that he decided to launch The Robin Hood Project  where he vows to hand out $1 million dollars to people in need before Christmas.

Giving away $1,000,000 of my own $$$ back to the world one person in need at a time….

So far the rapper’s Robin Hood Project tab includes paying for homeless peoples’ meals and giving them $50 to keep. And contributing $10,000 in  funeral costs to a six-year-old girl gunned down with her Daddy in California. Heartbreaking.

This very sad story hit me in a place nothing ever has. The picture above is of 6 year old “Tiana Ricks” who was gunned down in Moreno Valley this past weekend holding onto her fathers leg as men approached & opened fire wounding both Tiana & her father…. Tiana did not know she was shot & kept asking was her father okay until 2 1/2 hours later when lil Tiana was passed away just after midnite on Sunday… I read about this story here in Australia & immediately tracked down her mother & noticed her & the family trying to raise $10,000 for funeral costs…. So I got her on a 3 way with my accountant & now I’m in the process of transferring $10,000 from my account to hers !!!!!

If you would like to nominate someone to be a recipient of The Game’s The Robin Hood Project please tweet @TheRobinHoodProject. Ifyoublinked.com will follow The Game’s progress in giving out the blessings.

And Kudos to The Game for making a difference in strangers lives. Good Karma to you, my friend.
