Snoop Dogg made his traditional stop in Inglewood to dole out turkeys alongside Mayor James T. Butts and the Los Angeles Rams cheerleaders.

“Uncle Buck’s” Mike Epps spent the afternoon in Harlem USA at soul food hot spot Sylvia’s restaurant. The funnyman hyped up the crowd for the annual turkey drive.

Yesterday, rapper Boosie blessed his hometown of Bowden, GA with some 12 to 15 pounder turkeys straight out a truck and onto some lucky family members dinner tables.

Good job serving up some good eats for needy families, guys.

Thanks…for the Thanksgiving Turkeys

snoop-dogg-1024

It’s that time of year again. When we bow our heads and give thanks in front of a big ass bird. Otherwise known as Thanksgiving.

Well, in case you haven’t noticed (all those one-percenters look away) turkeys are pret-ty expensive this season. So, it’s all the more significant when celebs take the much-is-given-much-is-expected mantra to heart and pass out turkeys.

Like Snoop Dogg, who passed out over 1,500 turkeys to families in need in his hometown of Inglewood, California last Thursday. Snoop’s tardiness was forgiven when he took selfies with all the attendees, over 800. Including the seniors Inglewood Mayor James Butts shared with People.

“We had a tented area for seniors to sit in, and the first thing he did was go over to take pictures with everyone there.”

Snoop announced he’ll be at the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway every year going forward. So that every Inglewood res “would have a nice meal for Thanksgiving.”

A sentiment also shared by Chris Brown who handed out 2,000 turkeys to South Jamaica, Queens houses this morning.

Rapper Big Sean and his parents did the same at their annual Turkey giveaway in the motor city today. They also added sides. Ya gotta have the cranberry sauce.

Happy Turkey Drive!! RHOA Kandi Burruss, Ludacris and Mike Epps’ Thanksgiving Giveaways

KANDICARESludacrisfoundation

Needy families from Atlanta and Detroit have RHOA Kandi Burruss, rapper Ludacris and funnyman Mike Epps to thank for doling out turkeys through their respected charities.

Kandi partnered with Walmart–as well as requested turkey donations from the community–to collect the turkeys and trimmings she used to offer select single-parent homes in ATL, through her Kandi Cares charity. The housewife chanteuse distributed the thanksgiving goodies yesterday alongside daughter Riley.

Not far away, rapper Ludacris kicked off his annual holiday food basket giveaway to 250 families through his Ludacris Foundation. The rapper/actor not only distributed butterballs to the ATL, but also set up a coat and toy driver. Luda set up a one stop shop of generosity to needy Atlantans at the Utopia Academy for the Arts.

eppsieturkeydriveNot to be outdone comedian Mike Epps joined Big Sean in Detroit to take part in the All Star Give back turkey drive held at River Rouge Schools. The giveaway aimed to feed over 1,000 families in the motor city.

Finally, to round out the various acts of kindness that kick off the holiday season, FLOTUS Michelle Obama and “Extra’s” Mario Lopez plan a Thanksgiving surprise to a worthy veteran. The California native army sergeant fell on hard times after his tour of duty finished; became unemployed and lost his Vietnam veteran grandfather to cancer. “Extra” and FLOTUS stepped in to get him back on his feet. Watch “Extra” to see how the surprise plays out.

Kudos to these celebs and everyone for serving up blessings to needy families. Let’s pass that love and generosity around more.

Big Sean & Meek Mill Serve Up Thanksgiving Cheer

If no one has told you yet, I’ll surely do the honors: Happy Thanksgiving, y’all. Among the many things I’m thankful for is your roaming eyes on my page. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for the comments, likes and other props. It’s deeply appreciated.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday for so many reasons, but if someone pushed me for an explanation it’s because of all the memories produced on the day. One that sticks out the most is the last Thanksgiving with my Nana. The most beautiful brain image EVER!! At the risk of sounding sappy, I think it’s important that everyone have at least one experience like that with their friends and family.

Rappers Meek Mill and Big Sean helped to make it happen by giving back to their communities.

Meek Mill visited his hometown of Philly to kick off his inaugural “Dreamchasers Thanksgiving,” a two day event that aims to feed 600 families around the city of Brotherly love. Philly Mayor Michael Nutter joined Mill and released this statement:

I applaud Meek Mill for taking the initiative to give back to his home town. Gathering together with family and friends around a shared meal is one of the most important aspects of the holiday season. It is important to give thanks for all that we have, and I am proud that one of Philadelphia’s own is donating his time and resources to make sure families in our city can do just that

Meek Mill humbly gave this response on his generosity:

Philly raised me and made me into the man I am today, so to do the first annual ‘A Dreamchaser’s Thanksgiving,’ was an obvious thing to do. I’m blessed to be in a position where I can make sure that as many people as possible have a meal on Thanksgiving, so that they can be with their loved ones to enjoy the holiday.

So inspiring. I’m loving the hearts thrown Philly’s way. Even from lil Kevin.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone, eat and be merry XOXO
