Florida Memorial University welcomed Trayvon Martin Foundation into their campus fold. The non-profit org that raises awareness and support for families affected by youth-related crime will get financial support from the historically black college. Recognizing the Foundation’s impact on studying violent crime (Sybrina Fulton, mother of slain teenager Trayvon Martin, talked with several victims families–Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting Families, Tupac Shakur’s mother–affected by gun violence in May) they chose to make space in their library for the Foundation’s headquarters.

Last week, the Martin family made it official by having a ribbon cutting ceremony with F.M.U students making an appearance.
“As I look at the young men behind me, they remind me of Trayvon,” says Sybrina Fulton, according to the Miami Herald.
“I am overwhelmed,” Sybrina Fulton said at the ceremony. “I am grateful to God that I’m able to stand before you and let you know that God is in the midst of it all.”
