Toronto Raptors dunk master Vince Carter may have hung up his jersey for the final time last spring, but is still scoring wins for his hometown of Toronto, by launching the Vince Carter Scholarship and Mentorship program for teens in ‘The Six.’
To shoot your shot (pun intended) you have to be a high school student (between sixteen to eighteen years old) going into eleventh or twelfth grade in Sept 2021,who has a passion for fashion, sports, music, film, broadcasting, media, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The 8-time All Star player will dole out $25K per student scholarship to go towards attending private schools with customized academic programs, internships and shadowing executive board members.
The scholarship is open to everyone, but Vince is encouraging minorities to take
advantage of the opportunity because of so few females and POCs that fill corporate and STEM roles.
There are programs for tweens too–summer camps, employment and career workshops.
