Can y’all believe it’s been over a decade since Tamir Rice was taken from us?
Insane to think we’re close to having more years without Tamir than with him.
Last month, Tamir would’ve turned 23.
To commemorate his memory and build upon his legacy, Samaria Rice, Tamir Rice’s mom, launched a GoFundMe that will go towards construction for an arts and culture center for kids in Cleveland.
“I miss my son so much each and every day. As our family approach Tamir’s 23rd birthday, I’m asking for 23 dollars for 23 years without him. I purchased a building in the city of Cleveland to give back to our inner city youth with art and cultural developments. I have already invested into this beautiful historical building with you all support,” the GoFundMe read.
Dallas Maverick player Kyrie Irving did better than that. He donated $50,000 to the Center and helped them get closer to reaching their goal of $110,000.So far, they have raised $100,480. To donate please click here.
