Knicks Treat Brave NYC Boy Battling Sickle Cell Disease Like VIP at Championship Game

MJ on his way to Knicks Championship Game 3

Blinkers, grab a Kleenex because this one will make you think you’re cutting onions.

On Monday night, eight-year-old Marvell Charles Pierre Jr. aka MJ got to forget about needles, ER visits and his painful blood disorder disease and focused on cheering for his fave player, Jalen Brunson.

MJ scored free tickets to Game 3 of the NBA finals match between the Knicks and Spurs through Madison Square’s Garden of Dreams program.

“Knowing how much crying he’s done and how many hospitals and needles he’s endured, those moments of joy at the game were so amazing,” Angelina Rosado, of Manhattan told NY Post. “He just wants to be a regular kid.”

For one night MJ got to feel like a VIP; he watched the Knicks pre-game workout with other celebs in seats a stone’s throw from celebrity row and was gifted a royal blue fitted Knicks cap.

The biggest highlight was of course seeing Jalen Brunson hit the hardwood.

“To see him jumping up, screaming and cheering — those were super-happy moments,” Rosado told NY Post.“His face was lighting up.”

That’s just the reaction Garden of Dreams bases their charity’s mission on: bringing “life-changing opportunities to young people in need.”

Garden of Dreams linked up with Madison Square Garden and Make-a-Wish Foundation to clinch MJ a nothing but net type of night.

Sadly, with MJ being diagnosed with sickle cell disease—where red blood cells lump together and block blood flow causing excruciating pain—at one month old gives him enough days in and out of the ER he would like to forget.

“As a mom who has had to deal hospital visits and convincing him he’s gonna be fine in worst pain of his life… to see him having joy — you can’t even buy something like that,” she said.

The NY Post reports, the charity has given away about 500 tickets to kids in need for Games 3 and 4 of the Knicks final.

No one is more deserving of that golden ticket than these brave lil ones.

The goodness flowed off the court, y’all. The Garden of Dreams hooked the kiddies up with a meet-and-greet with the Knicks champions on GMA today.

What a sweet homecoming!
