Yet Another Reason to Love Bruno Mars

Just when you thought you couldn’t love Bruno Mars any more than you already did.

I know…impossible.

Well, it’s very likely when the “Versace on the Floor” crooner announced donating $1 million to Flint, Michigan’s relief efforts to decontaminate the city’s lead laced water supply.

More specifically proceeds will go to The Community Foundation of Greater Flint, a local charity which works with nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the health and development of children affected by the water crisis, as well as supporting small and minority-owned businesses in the area.

Bruno made the announcement on stage at Auburn Hills, Michigan, close by to Detroit and Flint.

God bless you Michigan!

The Guardian reports Bruno released this statement about the much needed donation.

I’m very thankful to the Michigan audience for joining me in supporting this cause. Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it’s important that we don’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster. As people, especially as Americans, we need to stand together to make sure something like this never happens in any community ever again.

Thanks Bruno for remembering the forgotten Flint residents still affected by the 2014 fatal water crisis.

Let’s hope others are paying attention.

Bill Clinton, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars Designed Teddy Bears Raise Thousands for HIV/AIDS Non-Profit

Move over Paddington, Bobbi Bear is taking over and he’s got backup. R&B superstars Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars and Bill Clinton designed their own Build-a-Bear to be auctioned off at the auction house Sotheby’s earlier this month.

The numbers are in and the stars helped raise over $100,000 to benefit Operation Bobbi Bear, a non-profit that caters to sexually abused and exploited kids that may be at risk to HIV/AIDS in South Africa. The bear plays a key part in victims describing where they were abused. The non-profit has reportedly saved thousands of children from being victimized by telling their stories.

MELT-YOUR-HEART FRIDAY!! How Strangers Paid for a Lil Boy’s Hospital Bills

Just when you think humanity and empathy has gone the way of dinosaurs, stories like this remind me there actually are good people still in this world. How so? Perfect strangers dug under their couch cushions, broke the piggy banks (hey, it is still a recession) and opened their wallets to a little boy facing a big challenge. Little Kayden was diagnosed with a rare illness at birth (in 2012) that caused his legs to be removed. With two abdominal surgeries under his young belt he’s trying to get use to walking with his walker and stand up on his own.

Despite his parents nervousness, he says he’s “got it.”

Now those random philanthropists have got their parents’ back by donating over $50 Gs, surpassing their goal, to cover medical expenses and any future surgeries Kayden may need. To make a donation towards the New Jersey toddler click here.

And guess what? Kayden isn’t the only lucky little boy to have his prayers answered, two pop singers used their powers to make two fans feel extra special.

Bruno Mars pulled out all the stops for Cleveland native Zumyah Thorpe, who was in a critical car crash that killed her mom and sisters. Zumyah suffered brain injuries. When Bruno heard that he was inspirational to her recovery he sent her front-row concert tickets and serenaded her during his concert. What a great guy. Check the video below

J.T. or Justin Timberlake is bringing sweetness back. He gave V.I.P treatment to tween Robbie Twible, who suffers from a debilitating skin disease, by giving him a limo lift from Long Island to his concert, where he sat in front row seats at the Hammerstein Ballroom. The New York Daily News reported that Twible may have trouble walking, but he busts a mood to a Timberlake jam. Duh? Who doesn’t?

What a week of good works. Let it continue to sprout branches and grow.
