Bill Clinton, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars Designed Teddy Bears Raise Thousands for HIV/AIDS Non-Profit

Move over Paddington, Bobbi Bear is taking over and he’s got backup. R&B superstars Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars and Bill Clinton designed their own Build-a-Bear to be auctioned off at the auction house Sotheby’s earlier this month.

The numbers are in and the stars helped raise over $100,000 to benefit Operation Bobbi Bear, a non-profit that caters to sexually abused and exploited kids that may be at risk to HIV/AIDS in South Africa. The bear plays a key part in victims describing where they were abused. The non-profit has reportedly saved thousands of children from being victimized by telling their stories.

Former NFL Player Terrell Owen Sells Memorabilia for Charity

Terrell Owens cleaned out his closets recently for a good cause. The former wide receiver hooked up with Closets for Causes–which match celebs with philanthropic opportunities related to style– to raise money for Good Sports, a non-profit promoting active lifestyles for kids.

The former Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles player donated his gear (signed and unsigned) to go kids that are starved of sports gear for sports teams around the country.

“I’m really blessed to be able to partner with Closets for Causes and give back to the youth in the community. It feels good to know that by giving the public the opportunity to own memorabilia from by football career and other personal items, children are receiving the sports equipment they need to pursue their own dreams and go to the next level.”

The Good Sports org wants to bridge the gap between impoverished youth programs unable to provide sports-related gear and kids that have a regular activity to keep them focused.

It’s good to know TO’s gear won’t go unused. But, I wonder what’s to become of his autographed figurines? hmmm check out all his memorabilia by clicking here.

Adding to his generosity, TO has also donated a one hour bowling session with him in Los Angeles. To bid on this fan experience, click here. Hmmm bowling, I was thinking more along the lines of him throwing the pigskin…oh well.

It’s the accessory on everyone’s lips this award season. And made more famous by Pharrell than this OG. Yet, the singer/producer is  known more for starting fires than putting them out, ahem, remember the “happy” blaze he caused at the stiffest, staunchest award show? Here’s a reminder. But this time he’s tipping the hat towards an even better cause. The Vivienne Westwood hat has been auctioned off on ebay with funds going towards Pharrell’s From One Hand to Another non-profit that supports Pharrell Williams Resource Center, a community resource center for underprivileged youth ranging from age 7 to 20 in his hometown of Virginia Beach.

The resource center aims to set up programs that will teach science, technology, engineering, arts, math and motivation to at risk kids. The center also offers life coaches and tutoring and motivation lessons to children.

The infamous hat sold for $44,100.00 after only 11 days on ebay. The first two days of bidding garnered $15,000. As a result 250 lucky kids will be traipsing off to one of 9 summer innovation camps Pharrell has under his From One Hand to Another non-profit.

I think the only thing to top this is Miley’s foam finger…no, that would just be a very, very bad idea. Ugghhh.
