Did y’all know March is colorectal cancer awareness month?
…yeah, me either.
It’s all good tho, because Jamie Foxx is schoolin’ us on the importance of colon cancer screenings in Stand Up to Cancer’s latest PSA.
“It’s time for a talk. If you’re 45 or older, you need to get yourself screened for colon cancer. This disease can be very treatable if caught early, so the sooner you know what’s up with your health, the better.” Jamie says.
In exclusive video clip People obtained, Jamie goes on to share losing good friends that were young to the deadly disease.
Like our foreva Black Panther Chadwick Boseman. He was only 43. It hasn’t even been a year since he left us.
Damn.
But real talk, Chadwick is one of many of us effected by this disease. Blacks are 20% more likely to get colon cancer than Whites and 40% more likely to die.
As uncomfortable as the prep may be (my mama filled me in on the “colon cleansing juice”) it’s supa necessary to conquer this monster, especially if it can be avoided.
Please get tested, y’all. We’ve said goodbye to enough people already.
