Real talk, y’all know he’s the male Oprah when it comes to charitable giving.

So, it’s nice the Oscars gave him his flowers by presenting him with Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.

BTW, ESSENCE reports Jean Hersholt–the dude the award was named after–is a Danish actor that headed the relief fund for Academy of Motion Pictures.

Accepting the award, Tyler recounts a story about helping a homeless woman find shoes by donating a pair from the wardrobe department in his studio.

After keeping her head down throughout there whole interaction, once the shoes were on her feet she lifted her head up with tears in her eyes and said, ‘Thank you Jesus, my feet are off the ground.’

Whew!! Goosebumps.

The woman said she thought Tyler would hate her because of her situation. He told her how could he when his mom taught him not to judge or hate anyone.

He preached to the audience to be more accepting of each other, and urged everyone to join him in finding a middle ground with each other.

It’s very much needed these days.
